                  Dear friend,

                  Copyright in Europe is broken. Your rights often end at national borders and the laws are not up to date with the internet and our current habits.

                  My report, which makes a number of suggestions for improving this, is coming up for a vote in the European Parliament on June 16. 

                  It is under attack by several MEPs and interest groups. Today, many MEPs are still on the fence about issues such as the right to link, the circumvention of digital locks or the adoption of common exceptions for libraries, parody or audio-visual quotation – the majorities in the Legal Affairs committee will be extremely narrow.

                  That's why it is really important that you contact your MEPs.
                  It's their job to represent you. To be able to do that, they need to hear from you – not just from lobbyists.
                  Will you pick up a phone and call your MEP to save copyright reform?
